Is a Faux Leather Shearling Coat a Good Choice for Winter?

I have my eyes on getting a faux leather shearling coat during the approaching winter but I am not quite sure whether it would be a wise decision or not. I found the design a rather good one because it seems to be somewhat warm, but I have some concerns. Can a faux leather shearling coat be as durable for normal wear or does it deteriorate rather quickly? How does it perform within freezing temperatures better than or lower than regular wool or real leather coats? Is it easy to take care of, or does it need more care to look good as intended? Please, share your thoughts and real-life stories concerning these coats with me!
